All About me :)

Over the last couple of years I, Black Sunshine, have gained a few more followers via here, Facebook  Etsy etc. And I am very grateful for all of your support :)

So I though I would use today's post to tell you a some more about me and my business.

I started Black Sunshine back in 2004 as a mail order 'shop' selling Gothic  alternative clothing. I received no funding or back up, although not through lack of trying.
A year later in 2005 I was lucky enough to rent a a bricks and mortar shop in Newport on the Isle of Wight. However in 2011 I decided to close my shop, due to the financial climate and general decline of 'real life' shopping.

While I was still at my shop I occasionally sold my handmade items (and my mums) and in 2005 I started to make synthetic dreads. So when I did close I decided to sell my handmade goods on-line, which I still do today,

Black Sunshine is still run just by little old me. Black Sunshine is my full time job and I love it. But I could not do it without the support of my family, close friends and of course, you guys :)

So if I do take a a day or so to reply to your e-mail or I am not open for custom orders please understand I am just a one girl army :)

The Boiler room Halloween Ball!

You may remember last years big Painless Parties Halloween show! Well this year there is another one for you!
Sponsered by myself, Black Sunshine Dreads, and Beat This , Painless Parties brings you 'The Boiler room Halloween Ball'! It will be on the 5th of November 2011 at St Georges Park, Isle of Wight.

Hosting this year’s event will be none other than the one & only Hel Painless
Live music comes from the Islands premier metal band Puritan Slain  

Burlesque & Boylesque (this is where people take their clothes off) performances come from
Midnight Iris
Peter Deviant Vert &
Roxy Twirls

Organ Grinder with all the fun & games of a twisted sideshow will also be on hand to turn heads & your stomach as they bring to you acts like
Walking on Broken Glass
The Human Pincushion
Bed of Nails
The Human Blockhead
Pierced Weight Lifting
The Human Dart Board

This years event is going to be more formal & this is how we are going to do it, all persons in attendance will be seated during the event, tables & chairs will be allocated on a first come, first serve basis. So if you want a good seat you will have to be there early boils & ghouls


All seats are £5 per person (Standard seating will be available on the door)

How ever there will be 16 V.I.P tickets available at £10 per person which will allow you access to the event prior to the stated opening times for a meet & greet of all the performers, a small glass of something (last year it was champagne) & reserved front row table along with a goodie bag which will include a signed program of the event itself (which will not be available anywhere else)

V.I.P tickets are currently available from The Beat This drum store in Newport (IOW).

Out & About

Over the last couple of week me and my other half, Mr. Strange, have been recording bits and pieces for his new music video. We found some great places, here on the Isle of Wight, and I took a few photos. I feel very lucky to live so near to these lovely beaches and woodland. And I loved the old bunker and derelict chalets we found.

The last day

The very last day of Black Sunshine is Saturday the 30th of October. 
There will be a 50% off sale on selected items (which means pretty much everything)
11am-4.30pm

We will not be carrying on as an online store.

After October the 30th Black Sunshine will just be selling handmade items through etsy :)
